Indoor laser tag systems in Russia. Final impression

INDOOR LASER TAG SYSTEMS IN RUSSIA. FINAL IMPRESSION

In our previous reviews we familiarized ourselves with manufacturers of indoor laser tag systems. We compared the companies’ key characteristics: equipment quality, software, the official site and social networks, technical support. Besides, we asked for the companies’ business offers in order to assess the prices of similar equipment sets and compare the level of information processing.

Our reviews mention that some manufacturers failed to send their business offers. Let us correct ourselves: we finally got the full information from all the companies. We were surprised to see the difference in the companies’ approach to interaction with customers. A business offer helps form the first impression about the company, and that impression remains with the customer throughout the whole process of purchasing and using the equipment. Here we’ll provide examples showing the companies fighting for their customer and, vice versa, the companies which do not even slightly bother to get the client to read their business offer up to the end.

Initial position

Each participant was asked to present 12 equipment sets, i.e. 12 tactical vests and 12 blasters. We asked the managers to complete that list because it is them who really know what is necessary in order to successfully launch the arena. Some company managers provided us with the required starting set, while the others offered some unnecessary stuff trying to boost the price tag. But let us analyze it step by step.

LSD Electronics

We got the information in a WORD document, a day later. As to its design, it seemed the worst version. A business offer is meant to attract the client’s attention to the company’s equipment, to get the client interested, to show that his dream may come true.

And now some screenshots from the letter sent by LSD managers.

The design is rather dull, isn’t it?

But we must note that the document has the “description” section which makes the data more informative. The customer will immediately understand why he needs the items given in the final list. We carefully studied the equipment range offered. It included: LSD Ingram, 12 items; a tactical vest with hit sensors, 12 items; a radio base; a remote control; a resuscitator; a first-aid box, 2 checkpoints, 12 battery chargers. We studied each option and came to the conclusion that the resuscitator is absolutely unnecessary in this set. Its functions are identical to those of the remote control and the first-aid box which are offered in the “starting” set. When you start your business, you must save and control even a small part of your budget. Unreasonable expenses may ruin your business at the initial stage. The so-called “extra” devices do not add to LSD Electronics score. So what is the total price of the set?

319,450 roubles. For this price you get the sets meant for playing on the battlefield. Besides, you must pay 500 roubles for LCD screens and another 500 roubles for recoil imitation modules. These are additional expenses which are not included in the final price. The attempt to add unnecessary devices into the list is aimed at boosting the final price, and this fact only confirms our previous assessment of LSD company. So, this manufacturer scores 5 points for the business offer.

Polygon 64

Here the situation is far more interesting. We got 2 business offers from the company a day after our enquiry. The first offer concerned the military arena. It represented mere text without any pictures or links to the necessary options. It is hard to form a clear picture of what you need if there’s no visual support. Well, let alone the design… We need an objective treatment of the matter, so let’s consider a few more options.

First of all, what is the function of the PC controller? In the brackets you find the word “independently”. Do they mean that you don’t need the service of a technical support specialist? Why don’t they put it clearly? Everybody knows that such poor attention to detail spoils the general impression. It looks rather rough-and-ready. They give 15 club chargers in spite of the fact that we ordered only 12 sets. Therefore, it would be easier and cheaper to buy 12 chargers than one big device meant for 15 sets. So, this slip is either the result of careless attitude or an attempt to sell some more extra stuff, - nothing of these is a sign of a self-respectful company.

The second business offer concerned the so-called “cosmo style” indoor equipment, with plastic blasters.

It looks like that:

A bit gloomy design, but still, it’s better than that of LSD Company. The advantage is that they have the description of the items. The awkward script design makes reading uncomfortable. We’d rather change the style and choose a more suitable colour scheme. The number of equipment items is the same as in the first, military arena’s, list. By the way, they also have a charger for 15 sets. The final price is 342,000 roubles. Such a price is accounted for by the plastic short barrel blasters which are prohibited for arena usage. First of all, the risk of injury is higher. Secondly, the use of polycarbonate as the production material has long been an indisputable rule, therefore, plastic is unacceptable here. It is rather questionable whether to spend 300 or 400 thousand roubles on the equipment whose reliability you doubt! Polygon’s business offer gets 6 points out of 10.

Forpost

This company prefers to present all kinds of information in their business offer. Here you can find the text, the invoice (looks as if the customer has already made up his mind and is ready to pay), heaps of links to presentations, official sites, reviews. The editorial staff of Trutnee spent 40 minutes to study the amount of information they sent.

Just try to get into the shoes of a person who receives so many things in one letter! Where does he begin? Not clear. We honestly did our job, studied all the links presented.

The set includes 12 Falcon blasters + 12 tactical vests with hit sensors. The invoice mentions only this equipment. The customer gets as a present: online-presentation, marketing materials, webinars. The customer will have to buy additional equipment separately. But the additional set will be very costly. We got a 636,000 rouble invoice (only vests and blasters included). This is confirmed by the screenshot.

Still, they sent us another file with completely different figures.

The file reads that 12 Pro version sets cost 530,000 roubles. Here the radio base is included in the price. It is still not quite clear how the Pro version is different from the Lite version. The large amount of information conceals the fact that the company’s indoor laser tag system is not worked out enough. There is neither software nor the answer to the key questions of equipment safety. The business offer states neither the exact price of the game sets nor the exact contents of the set. The customer      is likely to be supposed to find out everything by himself. So, the vague price tag, a large amount of information            and lack of additional equipment bring down the total score of Forpost’s business offer: it is 5 points.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Cybertag

Cybertag’s business offer seems to be the best from the point of the design. They clearly state the price, label all the devices from the starting set, state their exact number and price. Moreover, they sent the pictures of the equipment. You can see what the models look like. It should be noted that the list is rather laconic. It has no unnecessary things. The company’s managers included only the items which are absolutely necessary to start your arena business. This is another proof in favour of Cybertag – the company carries out a separate line of the company’s development, guided by real experts. The attachment to the letter contains no invoice. The company managers perfectly understand that a business offer is just a first step in the customer interaction. After reading the business offer the customer may change the number of recommended items and add some other devices, - as a result, the final price will change. Efficiency, being up to the point, clarity, - these are the strong points which make Cybertag number one among the above-listed rival companies.

Result

In all our reviews the editorial staff of our official site have been trying to be objective, giving thorough analysis of every assessment parameter. We tried to support every conclusion with screenshots and manufacturers’ quotes. Our main task was to lift the mystery veil of Russia’s indoor laser tag and to show the main manufacturers. We only set some parameters that will help you find the ideal manufacturer and indoor laser tag equipment provider.

The table shows that Cybertag’s score is considerably higher than those of the other companies. This fact has several reasons. The editorial staff of our site has never come across such an outer-directed supplier of indoor laser tag equipment. We were surprised by an open access to the software. The previous analysis of world-wide market tendencies shows that American and European manufacturers are rather conservative and avoid publicity. The company’s software is treated as a rare diamond accessible to long-established clients only. It is strange that Cybertag is not afraid of the copywriting danger: it’s not a rare thing when a company’s installation software is illegally taken by other companies. 

Moreover, if we study the list of arenas employing the company’s equipment, it becomes obvious: 10 arenas are long-term Cybertag customers. It is next to impossible to achieve such a result in so short a timespan. And this characteristic is really important, taking into account that rival arenas are very few. All the above-mentioned reasons make Cybertag the most significant domestic manufacturer. If the company goes on developing in such a fast tempo, it will soon be able to compete with leading foreign companies of this segment. And our editorial staff will be glad to write one more review series.
