VR business in 2026–2027: franchise, license, or independent club?

“VR franchise,” “license,” and “turnkey club” often appear side by side in proposals, but carry different obligations. Decide from the contract, not the package name. Public offers from Avatar Arena, WARSTATION, and Sandbox VR are starting points; their websites do not replace a current quote for your city.

Three launch models

A franchise usually links the right to use a brand to operating and design rules. A content or system license may let an operator retain their own brand while restricting games, updates, or technical configuration. An independent club leaves more room for a distinctive concept, but puts content, support, and marketing on the operator. Actual rights are defined by the contract.

One comparison sheet for all offers

  • Concurrent players and equipment list, including spares.
  • Floor area, installation, network, and staffing requirements.
  • Initial and recurring fees, rights to each game, and update terms.
  • Marketing materials, training, warranty, repairs, and support across time zones.
  • Territory, contract length, exit terms, and ownership of purchased equipment.

Do not compare one supplier's one-time fee with another's monthly subscription without a common time horizon. Record each quote's date and currency. If a term is not public, write “request from supplier” rather than guess a figure. Disclosure: TRUTNEE is affiliated with LASERWAR and discusses related offers. This is not an independent product test. Sources checked October 2, 2026.
